The Big Sky Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year is an annual basketball award given to the Big Sky Conference's most outstanding player. The award was first given following the 1978–79 season. Only one player—Larry Krystkowiak of Montana—has won the award three times (1984–86). Two others have been two–time winners: Orlando Lightfoot of Idaho (1993–94) and Harold Arceneaux of Weber State (1999–2000).

As of 2011, Weber State has the most all-time winners with eight. Idaho and Montana are tied for second with six winners apiece, while the next closest school only has three winners. Of current Big Sky members, only Sacramento State has never had a player of the year.
