Shayann Raquel Selby (born May 7, 1990) in Elizabeth City, N.C is a basketball player for Duke University.

Playing career[]

As a senior, she led Regina High School to the Division III state final four. The Regina Royals lost in the semifinals to Versailles. Selby averaged 24.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 4.7 steals and 1.6 blocks per game. Coming out of high school, her 2008 Class Rankings were as follows: 13th (Hoopgurlz), 26th (Blue Star), 33rd (All-Star Girls Report) and No. 1 point guard in class by Hoopgurlz.[1]

NCAA[]

Selby joined the Duke Blue Devils in 2008 and appeared in 26 games. In an overtime victory versus USC, she had a season-high five rebounds.[2] In her sophomore year, she played in 35 of a possible 36 games, averaging 10.9 minutes. Versus Temple, Selby recorded a career-high 14 points.

USA Basketball[]

In 2007, Selby attended the USA Basketball Youth Development Festival. She averaged 10.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals to guide the USA Blue Team to a 2-3 record and a silver medal, while starting four of the five contests.
