The Lake Michigan Conference was a conference participating in the NCAA's Division III. It was founded in 1974 as the Wisconsin Conference of Independent Colleges, and adopted its current name in 1981.
In 1989, the LMC merged with what was then the Wisconsin Independent Colleges Women's Athletic Conference (the WIC-WAC), several members of which fielded men's teams in the LMC.
The LMC will disband following the 2005-06 season.
