The Pacers-Pistons brawl was a incedent that occured on November 19, 2004 during a Pacers-Pistons game at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

The Brawl

It was 45.9 seconds left in regulation, with the score Pacers 97 Pistons 82. Ben Wallace was attemting a lay-up, then Ron Artest fouled Wallace. Ben responded with a shove on Artest, and most of the players all got involved. Artest then went and laid on top of the scorer's table. Artest made it were the players thought he was in an interview, which he was not. Later in the altercation, a fan threw a drinking bottle at Artest, which triggered him to go into the stands and beat up the person that did not threw the bottle. Other players, such as Stephen Jackson, followed Ron to the stands and the Pistons ended up going as well. The fans started fighting the Pacers. Eventually, the players went to their locker rooms, and the police arrived, cuffing spectators who would not leave the arena.


On November 20 and 21, the NBA suspended the following players for their actions at the game: Ron Artest, Ben Wallace, Stephen Jackson, Jermaine O'Neal, Anthony Johnson, Reggie Miller, Chauncey Billups, Derrick Coleman, Elden Campbell, and David Harrison.
